Terms of use
In force from 17 August 2026
lisbon-tennis.com (“LisbonTennis”, “we”) is a place where tennis players find someone to play with. An account is free. By creating one you agree to these terms — they are short, so please read them.
Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users
There is no tolerance here for objectionable content or for people who behave abusively. That is not a sentiment; it is the rule we delete content and accounts by. You may not post, send or upload:
- insults, threats, harassment, stalking or incitement to violence against anyone;
- racist, ethnic, religious or sexist content, or content targeting someone's sexual orientation or disability — including in a private message;
- sexual content, sexual propositions to a stranger, and anything of that nature involving or about children;
- other people's personal data — a phone number, address, email or photograph of someone else without their consent;
- fraud, advertising, spam, money-making schemes, or the sale of goods and services that are not tennis coaching or court time;
- impersonation — an account pretending to be another person, club or coach;
- anything that breaks the law or infringes someone's copyright.
All of it applies equally to listings, to your profile name and description, to your photo, to coach reviews and to private messages. A conversation between two people is no less bound by these rules than an ad on the board.
How to report, and how to block
Every listing and every profile has a “⚑ Report” button, and every conversation has one in the “⋯” menu at the top right. A report reaches us, not the person reported — they are never told who reported them.
Every profile and every conversation also has “🚫 Block”. A block takes effect immediately and in both directions: the blocked person's listings disappear from your board, the conversation leaves your inbox, your profiles are hidden from each other, and neither of you can message the other again. You owe nobody an explanation. A block is undone from the blocked person's profile — the one place that stays visible to you.
Blocking also notifies us, so every block enters the same queue reports do.
What we do
- We review every report within 24 hours. If the content breaks the rules above we remove it, and the account that posted it is blocked — on the first offence and without warning where the breach is serious.
- We filter automatically. Every sentence published here — a listing, a message, a review, a profile name and description — passes through a filter for abusive language and is refused before it is ever stored.
- We cap bulk messaging. There is an hourly limit on messages that makes spamming pointless.
- We may remove content and accounts at our discretion where that is what it takes to keep this place bearable. A blocked account loses access to the site and to the app.
If you think we got it wrong, write to lachezar.gadzhev@gmail.com — a person reads that mailbox.
Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old.
- One person, one account, under a real name others can recognise you by on court.
- You are responsible for everything posted from your account. Do not let someone else use it.
- You can delete your account yourself at any time under “Profile → Settings”. Deletion is final: your listings and messages go with it.
What you post, and what we do with it
What you write stays yours. You give us the right to display it in LisbonTennis and in the emails we use to notify other players, to the extent needed for the service to work. Nothing beyond that: we do not sell your content and we do not pass it on to anyone else.
Meeting up is at your own risk
LisbonTennis is a noticeboard, not the organiser of your games. We do not verify who anyone is, we do not vouch for anybody's level, honesty or manners, and we are not responsible for what happens once you have arranged something with another person. You go out to play using your own judgement and at your own risk. If someone lied to you or made you uncomfortable, report them — that part is our job.
The service, as it is
This site is a personal project and is provided “as is”, with no promise that it will run uninterrupted or without faults. We may change or withdraw parts of it. Our liability is limited to the minimum the law allows — the service is free and cannot carry more than that.
Termination
You can leave at any time by deleting your account. We may end your access if you break these terms — immediately and without warning in the case of objectionable content, threats or fraud.
Law and changes
Bulgarian law applies. If these terms change materially we will update this page and the date at the top of it. Personal data is covered separately, in the privacy policy.
